Meet the Team
At KVS, we value life experience, passion and personal sparks as the most enduring and essential qualities in our staff. Our teachers are known as mentors, reflecting the partnership that we consider essential in a holistic approach to academic learning and personal development. Our team is creative, resourceful, collaborative, and fun, and we deeply believe in transforming education.
As a child-safe organisation, we value diversity in our community, expect engagement from families, and ensure we have practices in place to allow all children and young people to be safe and feel safe. Koonwarra Village School is focused on the safety and wellbeing of its students at all times and has a zero tolerance approach to child abuse and harm.
When our school first opened, there was a natural grouping of younger and older children into two key spaces in the school. The younger children (Foundation and Level 1) were inspired by the beautiful natural sunlight that comes into their space, so this became the Sun Room. The older children (Levels 2 - 6) were inspired by the Triskelion school logo and are known as Triskels. These two learning communities continue to function as our two multi-age ‘classrooms’.
